The Dolomite Alps are in the eastern Alps along what was the border of Italy and Austria-Hungary. Much of the war between the two countries was fought in the foothills, valleys, and peaks of the Dolomites, oftentimes under horrendous conditions. From the beginning of the war, the Austro-Hungarians by and large held higher ground.

Dolomite Alps is a mountain range in Europe.
