As part of its campaign of submarine warfare, on February 4, 1915, Germany declared a war zone around the British Isles in which all shipping, allied or neutral, would be sunk without warning.

Germany's declaration followed that by Great Britain that had declared the entire North Sea a military zone as of November 5, 1914.

British Isles war zone is a war zone.
