Dust jacket of I Flew With the Lafayette Escadrille by Edwin Parsons.

I Flew with the Lafayette Escadrille, by Edwin Parsons, published by Seale in 1963. 335 pp. This is a reprint of Parsons' original story about his experiences in the Lafayette Escadrille during World War I, The Great Adventure, but this edition contains additional illustrations and a new preface.

A mere thirty-eight Americans flew with the Escadrille, flying and fighting from April 20, 1916 to February 18, 1918. During that time, as they lost nine killed, one taken prisoner, and one seriously injured, they counted fifty-seven officially confirmed victories.
